Breathwork Classes
Our breathwork sessions are rooted in science-backed practices and real-world application. You’ll explore:
- Up-regulation techniques to energise, improve focus, and prepare the body for activity or performance
- Down-regulation techniques to calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and support restful sleep
- Education on how to apply breathwork tools in everyday situations — whether it’s navigating pressure, supporting recovery, or improving athletic output
- Guided progression that meets you where you are and supports steady, sustainable growth
Why It Matters
These practices aren’t about pushing harder. They’re about building real resilience through rest, rhythm, and nervous system regulation.
Perfect as a stand-alone wellness ritual — or the missing link in your training, recovery, or daily wellbeing routine.
MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Kayla is a passionate ocean woman and IPHM certified breath work instructor who has built her life around supporting healthy communities and environments. Originally from the US, she moved to Aotearoa in 2019, fell in love with our beautiful taiao, and now calls the Bay of Islands home. She comes with a background in marine science, conservation, creativity, and a deep passion for nature connectedness.
In her mahi, she works for several environmental organisations. Her 10+ year journey with breath work and freediving has led her to now lead ocean education programs and breath work journeys here in Northland.
She is qualified marine biologist, certified free diver, scuba diver, and mindfulness & breath work coach. Her classes offer transformational breath work techniques, incorporating ancient pranayama and modern methodologies to help unlock stored energy in the body and support multilevel healing. Join a weekly session with Kayla to learn about different breathing techniques to regulate your nervous system, reduce stress, and improve overall performance.
